The following links are a gateway to some great challenges and sporting events.

2:09 Events - Running and charity fund raising have become very closely interlinked – what better way is there for extracting sponsorship from your family, friends and colleagues than to announce you are going to run a marathon? We are very pleased to work closely with some of the most active charities on a wide variety of projects - whether it is organizing guaranteed entry and travel to marathons in New York, Chicago, Paris or Cuba or organizing more local events in the UK.

Across the Divide’s charity challenges are unique in that all of its fundraising events are organised as mini-expeditions, with all the safety and personnel back-up that this entails. The experience of the Across the Divide teams stretches across over 300 charity challenges, in over 35 different countries with £24 million raised for charity. It is this commitment and experience that helps to ensure that all of our challenge participants get the most of their charitable fundraising. www.adventure-racing.org

We are the UK's leading outdoor fitness provider. Operating in parks across the UK, we offer the best way to get fit and lose weight whilst having great fun with other people.
We operate in all weather conditions and run classes throughout the Autumn and Winter months. For more on winter training with BMF and our exclusive Our military fitness classes are run by serving or former members of the armed forces with recognised fitness training qualifications. They will help motivate and encourage you back into fitness! To find out why BMF members enjoy classes.
Classes are graded by ability group and are for members of the public. They are designed for ALL abilities, from those just starting to exercise who want to lose weight, to the already very fit.
We also use our military skills and experience to organise Events, and corporate team-building and charity fundraisers through the BMF Consultancy.

F3 Events was set up in 2007, as there was a need to fill a gap in the sports events market. Multi sport events and triathlon especially have seen a huge increase in demand over the past couple of years, as more and more people look to take on a challenge or change there individual sport to see if they can excel further in multi disciplines. • The multi sport industry, including triathlon is the UK’s fastest growing sporting area. The whole industry sector has undergone massive development around the world since, especially triathlon, since its inclusion in the 2000 Olympic Games. • The dynamic multi-discipline sport encompasses 3 areas swimming, cycling and running. • Competitors race against the clock from the point they enter the swim to when they run across the finish line. • The distances of a triathlon range from a ‘super sprint’ which averagely takes under 1 hour to complete to the ‘Ironman’ which can take up to 17 hours to complete. www.f3events.co.uk

We believe that running, at every level, should be challenging, achievable and enjoyable. All too often, however, we get caught up in the day to day stresses and strains of fitting in runs, staying motivated, finding new routes, finding new running partners, achieving times, etc. At the end of the day, however, we feel better when we run than when we don’t so don’t let these niggles put you off your stride…...We at Purple Patch strive to offer you that extra something. Not ‘just a running weekend’ but a quality, informative, engrossing, fun weekend. Not ‘just coaching’ but targeted, innovative, personalised guidance. Racing events that challenge all your senses, not just your stopwatch (or wallet!). There is no better way to make sure that the time and effort you spend training is effective and appropriate than one-on-one Coaching. For a small monthly amount (about the same amount as you spend on your newspapers!) you can have a personalised programme and ongoing support & advice via email, telephone or face to face. We look forward to hearing from you …..Chris & Claire www.purplepatchrunning.com
